Users of social networks reported this Monday, November 28 that for several minutes there has been no electricity service, mainly in several areas of the capital and in some sectors of Boca del Monte, Villa Canales, Santa Catarina Pinula and San José Pinula.
The report mentions that for several minutes there has been no electric service in zones 1, 2, 5, 6, 10, 12, and 13 of the capital, as well as in Boca del Monte, Villa Canales, Santa Catarina Pinula, San José Pinula and Villa Nueva.
In some sectors, users report that the electric power went out around 1:40 p.m. and up to 2:40 p.m. it had not been restored.
A user from zone 21, mentioned that the power went off at around 2:10 p.m. and at the moment (up to 2:40 p.m.) it had not been restored.
In some sectors of zones 1 and 5 of the capital, people report that the power went out for about 40 minutes.
In Boca del Monte, Villa Canales the power went out at 1:40 a.m., but returned and there was a second blackout at 2:15 p.m. and they are still without service.
In San José Pinula, the power also went out around 2:15 pm and returned at 2:45 pm.
Preliminary cause
Social Communication of Empresa Eléctrica de Guatemala (EEGSA) anticipated that the lack of electric energy is due to a problem in the National Interconnected System and that it is not related to the distribution network of said company.
It affirms that such damage is being reestablished by the Wholesale Market Administrator.
