TagEnergy hires Vestas to build 756-MW Aussie wind farm in Victoria

    November 29, 2022 - SeeNews Renewables

November 29 (Renewables Now) - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) announced today it has been contracted to build the 756-MW first stage of the Golden Plains Wind Farm in the Australian state of Victoria.

Renewable energy enterprise TagEnergy, controlled by Impala SAS and supported by major investors Mirova and Omnes, has hired Vestas to deliver the engineering procurement and construction (EPC) work for the Stage One project.

The Danish company will equip the wind farm with 122 units of its V162-6.2 MW turbines from the EnVentus platform and will provide maintenance services over a period of 30 years.

Vestas, which says it currently maintains the largest number of wind turbines in Australia, expects to deliver the turbines in the final quarter of next year and to start commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2024.
