Finnish energy group Helen, Finnish Bank of Åland's Ålandsbanken Wind Power Fund and Swedish wind and solar farm developer OX2 have agreed on the construction of a 145.2-MW onshore wind farm in Pieksämäki, Finland. The Niinimäki wind farm will comprise 22 wind turbines with a rated capacity of 6.6 MW. Construction of the wind farm will begin immediately, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The annual energy production of the wind farm will be more than 400 GWh.
OX2 will deliver the wind farm as a turnkey project. Once commissioned, OX2 will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of the wind farm. The transformers will be supplied by Tamini Trasformatori, part of Italian electricity transmission grid operator Terna Group. Swedish field service provider for communication and power networks Eltel Networks will be responsible for the power lines and the substation.
