    S. Africa's business chamber concerned about negative effects of electricity shortages

    December 8, 2022 - Xinhua News Agency

JOHANNESBURG, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) on Thursday expressed concern about the number of hours the country endures without electricity, saying it negatively affects business and economic growth.

The country has been experiencing erratic power supplies and on Wednesday the power utility, Eskom announced that the country is going to load shedding level six, which means a day without electricity for about six hours.

"This level of instability in the provision of power has serious negative implications for South Africa with high unemployment. Eskom said stage six load shedding will continue until Friday morning when stage five will kick in until Saturday. Enditem
