BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. The Mary state power plant, located in the southeast of Turkmenistan, has increased electricity generation in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the information, during the reporting period, the power plant generated 13.79 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, exceeding the production plan by 20.4 percent.
More than 9 billion kilowatt-hours of the total energy generated by the power plant in 2022 accounted for the combined cycle power plant, commissioned in September 2018.
The electricity produced at the Mary power plant is continuously supplied to the population, industrial enterprises, and social facilities of Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia and plays an important role in creating additional opportunities for further increasing the volume of supplies.
The country will increase electricity exports by 8.7 percent by 2025 and this will be facilitated by the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations, and distribution facilities.
