January 18 (Renewables Now) - Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE) said today its energy services unit Endesa X will build a 2.2-MWp rooftop solar power system for Italian Colorobbia Group at a logistics centre in eastern Spain.
The solar array will feature 3,367 photovoltaic (PV) panels covering a 15,500 sq m (166,840 sq ft) area atop the flat roof of Colorobbia's logistics centre in the Spanish municipality of Vilafames, Catellon province.
Once up and running, the new PV system should be capable of generating some 3 MWh per year, which will allow the logistics centre to cover 10% of its energy needs.
In addition to the installation of the rooftop solar system, Endesa noted that it will also provide the monitoring of the energy produced, consumption and savings through its Energy Management Service (SGE).
Colorobbia Group specialises in the production and distribution of raw materials and semi-finished products for the ceramics and glass industry.
