Rep. Rosendale Applauds Northwestern Acquisition Of Colstrip Power Plant

    January 18, 2023 - Targeted News Service

WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 -- Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Montana, issued the following news release:

Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) issued the following statement in response to NorthWestern's announcement that it will acquire Avista's share in Colstrip's units, doubling its current share.

"I'm encouraged by the news of NorthWestern's expanded stake in Colstrip's power plant," Rep. Rosendale said.

"This partnership will provide stability for the town of Colstrip and the state of Montana, while maintaining our commitment to affordable, reliable energy. Not only will it create jobs and lower energy costs for Montanans, but it's a step toward restoring America's energy dominance."

Rep. Rosendale is a strong supporter of energy production in Colstrip; leading a Congressional delegation to the site as part of his energy tour last year, in addition to participating in a domestic energy roundtable with local leaders.
