BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. The Balkanabat state power plant, located in the west of Turkmenistan, has increased electricity generation in 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the information, during the reporting period, the power plant generated 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, exceeding the production plan by 8.4 percent.
The electricity produced at the Balkanabat power plant fully provides the western region of Turkmenistan. Excess electricity is sent to the unified power supply system of the country.
Turkmenistan is actively integrating into the unified energy system of Central Asia and plays an important role in creating additional opportunities for further increasing the volume of supplies.
The country will increase electricity exports by 8.7 percent by 2025 and this will be facilitated by the construction of new power plants, transmission lines, modern transformer substations, and distribution facilities.
