The future of mobility in Mexico points to the fact that the production of cars with combustion engines will continue, but they will be charged with green hydrogen, so that their emissions are converted into water vapor.
Israel Hurtado, president of the Mexican Hydrogen Association (AMH2), explained that some companies have already approached the organization with the intention of seeing the feasibility of mobility with hydrogen.
"I have recently talked with a couple of companies that are linked to mobility, one, particularly of long-distance heavy goods transport wants to see a pilot with hydrogen.
"There are also private and commercial vehicle companies that are already analyzing its use from two perspectives; one is with hydrogen fuel cells to run an electric motor and the other is the direct injection of hydrogen into an internal combustion engine and companies like Toyota are presenting it," he explained in an interview.
In addition, he pointed out that work is being done on advances for air mobility, where pilot flights with sustainable fuel have already been carried out; even airports are being considered for direct involvement so that sustainable fuels can be used there.
He added that public urban passenger transportation companies are also considering the use of alternative fuels such as hydrogen.
