January 19 (Renewables Now) - Serbia-based wind energy producer Fintel Energija AD (BEL:FINT) said on Wednesday that it has selected China’s Zhejiang Windey Co Ltd (SHE:300772) as the preferred turbine supplier for 110 MW of projects in the Balkan country.
Under the contract, Windey is to supply and install a total of 28 turbines for the Kosava Phase II, Kula 2, Kula 3, Kula 4 and RAM wind farm projects. This will include the delivery of 19 pieces of the 3.6-MW WD164 machines, three units of the 3.3-MW WD164 model and six 5.0-MW WD172 units.
Windey will also provide service and maintenance for the turbines for ten years. For this, the turbine maker will set up a service shop in Belgrade, Fintel Energija said.
Fintel Energija is majority-owned by Italian energy firm Fintel Energia Group SpA. At present, the company operates three wind farms in Serbia and has ten more wind projects in development in the country. It owns some of these assets through a partnership with Serbian diversified holding MK Group.
