    January 19, 2023 - SeeNews Renewables

January 19 (Renewables Now) - The first turbines at the 257-MW Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea have been energised, and are now producing electricity, the project owner, Belgium’s Parkwind NV, said on Tuesday.

The wind farm has been uploading power to the German grid since January 12.

Parkwind situated the Arcadis Ost 1 project off the coast of the island of Ruegen in the waters of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state. The wind farm is equipped with Vestas V174-9.5MW turbines, the first of which were brought online over the past several weeks.

Full operations are scheduled for 2023.

Arcadis Ost 1 is the first international project for Parkwind. The Belgian offshore wind specialist currently operates four wind farms totalling 771 MW in the waters of its native country.
