January 26 (Renewables Now) - German renewable energy asset manager CEE Group has bought an 81.9-MWp portfolio of ground-mounted photovoltaic projects in the Netherlands from a European unit of Chinese solar panel maker and project developer Chint Solar.
The acquisition expands the German company’s solar portfolio in the Netherlands to about 243 MWp.
The purchase price was kept under wraps.
The acquired portfolio comprises six individual sites -- Vlowijker I, Vlowijker II, De Ekers, Dievelman, Eimersweg and Boksveenweg. The plants are scheduled to be commissioned between May and September this year, a press release said.
“The acquisition of the PV portfolio is an important step towards the further expansion of our portfolio on an international level and enables us as CEE to decisively expand our presence in the Netherlands,” CEE’s chief executive Detlef Schreiber said in the statement.
The deal with Chint Solar comes as the latest investment announced by the German company over the past couple of months.
CEE earlier in January bought a 19-MWp solar park in Germany’s Brandenburg state from local renewables developer Energiekontor AG. At the end of 2022, it took over a 44-MWp ground-mounted solar farm in the Netherlands from Danish project developer Obton.
The German asset manager has so far launched seven renewable energy funds in Germany and Luxembourg and manages around EUR 2.3 billion (USD 2.50bn) in this asset class.
