Technique Solaire buys 6.2-MWp solar plant in India

    January 26, 2023 - SeeNews Renewables

January 26 (Renewables Now) - French independent renewable power producer Technique Solaire announced on Wednesday it has completed the purchase of a 6.2-MWp ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) plant in India.

The deal, formalised in December 2022, concerns a solar plant in the state of Uttarakhand, in the north of the country. The asset benefits from a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with local utility Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL).

Operational since 2017, the PV park is capable of producing 7,500 MWh of green electricity per year, enough to meet the consumption of 32,000 inhabitants.

The company now has a portfolio of 74.5 MWp in India, including four ground-mounted and two rooftop installations. Its objective is to operate several hundred MWp by the end of 2024, according to Technique Solaire's India Director, Manu Bishnoi.
