Azerbaijan's energy projects of great importance for partnership with EU - minister

    February 2, 2023 - Trend News Agency

Timely implementation of energy projects is of great importance for Azerbaijan's energy partnership with the EU, said Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov during a meeting with Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy.

According to him, Europe will receive 20 million tons of hydrogen by 2030.

"As part of a strategic energy partnership with the EU, we are interested in exporting electricity and hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources. In this aspect, the timely implementation of projects with Masdar is very important. I consider it essential to accelerate the implementation of green energy projects with a capacity of 4 GW," the minister said.

The expansion of cooperation with Masdar on projects involving a solar power plant with a capacity of 230 MW was particularly noted. Also, projects on wind, solar energy, and green hydrogen with a capacity of 10 GW were mentioned during the meeting.

In turn, the CEO of Masdar stressed the priority of cooperation with Azerbaijan on these megaprojects.

The sides also exchanged opinions on the planned export routes in various directions and the creation of production capacities.
