YPF Luz will invest more than US$ 260 million in the construction of a new wind farm in Córdoba, the fourth in the country, which will have a power of 155 megawatts (MW) with which the company will reach more than 650 MW in renewable energies, it was officially announced today. The new wind farm will be located in the town of General Levalle, 380 kilometers south of the capital of Córdoba, and its 155 MW of power will be equivalent to the consumption of more than 190,000 homes, YPF Luz said in a press release. Thanks to the 25 wind turbines of 6.2 MW each, which will be installed on a total of 4,360 hectares, the General Levalle wind farm will have a capacity factor of more than 50% and will avoid the emission of more than 350,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. In this line, he pointed out: "With General Levalle there are already seven provinces in which we are present, strengthening our commitment with the growth of the national energy matrix and promoting the evolution of energy for the wellbeing of people". General Levalle is the company's fourth wind farm and will join Manantiales Behr, located in Chubut and operational since 2018; Los Teros, in Azul, province of Buenos Aires, commissioned in 2020; and Cañadón León, in Cañadón Seco, Santa Cruz, operating since 2021.
