Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF) announced on Thursday that it plans to build a wind farm in General Levalle, in the south of the province of Córdoba, which will generate electricity equivalent to the consumption of 190 thousand homes.
According to the state-owned company, the project, which will be located some 380 kilometers south of the provincial capital, will have an installed power of 155 MW.
It specified that the work, which will last 20 months, will require an investment of approximately 260 million dollars and will create 300 jobs.
"General Levalle will have a capacity factor of more than 50% and will avoid the emission of more than 350,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year", YPF stated.
They added that the farm will have 25 wind turbines of 6.2 MW each, in a total area of 4,360 hectares.
It will be YPF's fourth wind farm in the country and will be added to those already built in 2018 in Manantiales Behr (Chubut), Los Teros (Azul) in 2020 and Cañadón León (2021) in 2021.
With General Levalle we are now present in 7 provinces, strengthening our commitment with the growth of the national energy matrix and promoting the evolution of energy for the wellbeing of people", said Martín Mandarano, CEO of YPF Luz.
