Acciona Energía has signed a new power purchase agreement with the energy management platform for large industrial consumers Fortia for the supply of all the energy generated in six wind farms over the next 10 years. This agreement is in addition to the one signed last year for 1TWh, the largest corporate renewable PPA with physical delivery for industry signed in Spain.
The supply, which will amount to 254 GWh per year and will contribute to supplying the industrial facilities of several of Fortia's customers, will come from six wind farms with a combined capacity of 117MW.
Thanks to this agreement, the large industry will avoid the emission of around 30,500 tons of CO2 per year, while having a 100% renewable supply, promoting the stabilization of its supply costs.
"We are very pleased to continue expanding our collaboration with Fortia and its shareholders and our contribution to the energy transition of large industry," said Javier Montes, commercial director of Acciona Energía.
Juan Temboury, CEO of Fortia, said: "The signing of this wind PPA with a major electricity company such as Acciona Energía will contribute to promoting a more sustainable and secure industrial model by providing our customers with access to renewable energy at a competitive price.
