February 6 (Renewables Now) - Spanish renewables pure-player Acciona Energia (BME:ANE) said on Monday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply 254 GWh of wind energy to Fortia, a Madrid-based energy provider serving large industrial consumers in Spain and Portugal.
The contracted power will come from six wind farms with a combined capacity of 117 MW. The PPA will enable Fortia’s energy-intensive customers to access renewable and competitively priced electricity, Acciona Energia said.
Details on the wind farms were not provided. According to the renewables firm, their entire production output is placed under the PPA for the next ten years.
The latest agreement reunites Acciona Energia and Fortia, which last year arranged for the supply of 1 TWh of renewable power per year to energy-intensive corporates.
