Rejlers experts in battery storage contribute to the energy transition

    February 6, 2023 - Cision

The society of the future will require significantly more electricity than today and the ability to store renewable energy is becoming increasingly important in the transition to a sustainable society. Rejlers competence centre for energy storage has successfully led several projects in the area and now sees an increased demand for services to stabilize the electricity system in various ways.

As unplanned forms of energy such as wind power and solar energy form an increasing part of Sweden's energy mix, a wide range of services is required to maintain stability and reliability. Among other things, the market for support services has developed, for example through the establishment of large battery systems to support the electricity system through frequency stabilization. Rejlers has solid cutting-edge expertise in the field and helps customers such as Varberg Energi and Axpo Sweden with projects in energy storage.

"By establishing battery storage systems, energy companies can sell services on Svenska kraftnät's balancing market. It is a rapidly growing market where support services are used to stabilize the electricity system in various ways and to enable the transformation of the energy system," says Thomas Saubach, Business Area Manager in the Energy division at Rejlers.

Rejlers offering in battery energy storage systems, also called BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) includes everything from feasibility studies and customer support to project management and implementation.
