February 7 (Renewables Now) - GE Renewable Energy will supply its turbines for 133 MW of wind power projects in Spain.
The wind turbine maker said it had been selected by Spanish multi-energy group Repsol SA (BME:REP) to deliver 22 units of its 6.1 MW machines for six sub-projects within the Delta II cluster in the region of Aragon, northeastern Spain.
Delta II as a whole will have a total capacity of 860 MW, making it Repsol’s largest renewable energy project currently under construction, GE said.
Wind turbine blades and towers for this order will be manufactured in Spain, while GE’s factory in Salzbergen, Germany, will make the nacelles.
GE Renewable Energy has more than 4,600 MW of wind turbines installed in Spain. Of these, 400 MW were installed with Repsol.
