Abreu advises on the licensing of Europe's largest solar plant

    February 7, 2023 - CE Noticias Financieras

Abreu Advogados has advised Iberdola in obtaining environmental licensing from the Portuguese Agency of the Environment for the construction of the largest solar photovoltaic power plant in Europe in Santiago do Cacém.

This PV plant has an electricity production capacity of 1.2 gigawatts and an investment of around E800 million. It will be called Fernando Pessoa and will provide clean, cheap and locally produced energy sufficient to meet the annual needs of around 430,000 homes.

The team from Abreu Advogados advising on this deal was formed by Manuel Andrade Neves (pictured left), partner and co-coordinator of the Energy & Natural Resources team; with the support of Tiago Corrêa do Amaral (pictured centre), professional partner, and Madalena Bernardes Coelho (pictured right), associated partner, of the Public & Environment team of Abreu Advogados.
