Pakistan gets more power from Iran

LAHORE, Pakistan - Following the prime minister's and federal minister for energy's directives, the National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has completed the construction of a 29-kilometer-long, double-circuit transmission line from Polan to Gwadar.

As a result, Pakistan's regional transmission system will be able to import an additional 100 MW from Iran. The transmission line's Circuit-II testing was completed on Sunday, while Circuit-I testing will take place on February 7, according to the NTDC.

An additional 100 MW of power will be discharged via this transmission line in the coming days. This additional power import from Iran will benefit the people of the Gwadar and Makran divisions in terms of power adequacy and load shedding, as well as increase the confidence of key business players and investors in the Gwadar region's opportunities.
