February 8 (Renewables Now) - Greenvolt Next Portugal will install a 1.17-MWp solar system for local conglomerate Teixeira Duarte (ELI:TDSA) at the latter's operational hub in Montijo city, centre-south Portugal.
The subsidiary of Portuguese renewables developer and power producer Greenvolt - Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) said today that the project will be financed by Greenvolt Next Invest. To date, the group has financed EUR 13.5 million (USD 14.4m) worth of projects through this entity.
Covering an area larger than 5,500 sq m (59,201 sq ft), the solar array will consist of 2,155 modules. Once up and running, the system will be capable of generating 1,716 MWh per year, enough to reduce Teixeira Duarte's electricity bill by 62%.
