Ukraine’s USF Natural Gas Reserves Up 22.1% To 18.654 Billion Cubic Meters Since April 30

    Since April 30, the start of the current gas injection season, and as of September 18, Ukraine had boosted its natural gas reserves in its underground gas storage facilities (USF) by 22.1% or 3,375 million to 18.654 billion cubic meters.

    The Ukrainian Gas Transport System Operator has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

    The said gas reserves were down 31.2% or 8,479 billion cubic meters year over year (27.133 billion cubic meters).

    As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company intends to accumulate 19 billion cubic meters of gas in the USF before the start of the upcoming heating season.

    The Ukrtransgaz company, the operator of the Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities, plans to accumulate 19-20 billion cubic meters of gas in the USF before the start of the next heating season.

    On April 30, Ukraine exited the 2020/2021 heating season with reserves of 15.279 billion cubic meters of gas in the USF, which is 3.4% less than in 2020.
