En+ plans to transfer coal-fired TPPs to gas but doesn't rule out selling them in future

Interfax Russia & CIS Energy Newswire

BRATSK. Dec 7 (Interfax) - En+ (MOEX: ENPG) Group will concentrate on modernization and transferring its coal-fired thermal power plants to gas, but does not rule out selling them in the future, head of the energy division at En+ Mikhail Khardikov told reporters.

"We believe that transferring the TPPs in the Irkutsk region to gas is the kind of prospect that should definitely be implemented, and we will be working on it," Khardikov said, responding to a question from reporters.

"As regards selling, the plants belong to the group for now, and we are developing them. If a deal takes place with any potential buyer, we will announce this," he said.

"Now, we are actively modernizing our enterprises, including under the KOM modernization program," Khardikov said.

Irkutskenergo (MOEX: IRGZ), which is part of En+ Group, underwent reorganization in 2020, as a result of which all coal-fired TPPs were transferred to its 100% subsidiary LLC Baikal Energy Company.
