News: Samsung C&T has issued a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) to Prysmian Group to supply power cables for a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cable project in UAE. Under the USD251.0mn contract, Prysmian will deliver engineering and associate works in advance of the full contract award and notice to proceed (NTP), scheduled for Q322. The new link is part of the strategic HVDC transmission system for the ADNOC-TAQA Lightning Project, which includes the installation of 124 km-long submarine cables to be installed under water and 3.5km HVDC land cables. The project is scheduled for commissioning in 2025, according to a press release from Prysmian.
