Neoen (ISIN Code: FR0011675362, mnemonic code: NEOEN), France's leading independent producer of exclusively renewable energies, today announces the inauguration of the Pays du Pays wind farm between Madon and Moselle. With a capacity of 39.6 MW, it is Neoen's largest wind farm in France. Located in the municipalities of Damas-et-Bettegney, Dompaire, Gelvécourt-et-Adompt, Harol, Les Ableuvenettes, Madonne-et-Lamerey and Ville-sur-Illon, in the Vosges department (Grand Est region), this park is equipped with 18 Vestas V110 wind turbines with a unit power of 2.2 MW. All of the electricity produced by the Pays du Pays wind farm between Madon and Moselle is covered by a 20-year purchase obligation contract with EDF.

    Key Highlights:

    * The wind farm will in fact contribute to achieving the Grand Est region's objectives in terms of energy transition, namely coverage of 41% of its final energy consumption by renewable and recovered energies in 2030 and 100 % by 2050.

    * Finally, the SEM Terr'ENR, a semi-public company supported by the Communities of Municipalities Mirecourt Dompaire and the Community of Agglomeration of Epinal, will become co-shareholder of the wind farm up to 9% alongside Neoen, confirming thus the local anchoring of the project.

    * With this new wind farm, Neoen confirms its position as the independent leader in the production of renewable energies in France and strengthens its position in the Grand Est region in which the company already operates 13 wind farms and 2 solar power plants.

    - It will produce nearly 95 GWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 37,400 inhabitants.

    - The project was developed in close collaboration with the territory and SEM Terr'EnR, which will become a joint shareholder in the park alongside Neoen.

Commissioning is scheduled for early June, after completion of the final tests. All of the electricity produced by the Pays du Pays wind farm between Madon and Moselle is covered by a 20-year purchase obligation contract with EDF.

The relationship of trust established in 2005 between Neoen and all of the players in the region was decisive for the realization of this emblematic project. The wind farm will in fact contribute to achieving the Grand Est region's objectives in terms of energy transition, namely coverage of 41% of its final energy consumption by renewable and recovered energies in 2030 and 100 % by 2050. Throughout the project, Neoen regularly consulted the inhabitants of the seven municipalities concerned, in particular through public information meetings. A public inquiry was also conducted and resulted in a favorable opinion. Finally, the SEM Terr'ENR, a mixed economy company supported by the Communities of Municipalities Mirecourt Dompaire and the Community of Agglomeration of Epinal,

The park will produce nearly 95 GWh of green electricity annually, or the equivalent of the electricity consumption of 37,400 inhabitants, heating included. This electricity production will prevent the emission of nearly 28,500 tons of CO2 per year. The wind farm will also contribute to employment and professional integration within the region. Indeed, the maintenance of the surroundings and facilities of the park has been entrusted to the socio-economic and socio-educational association La Bouée, located in Mirecourt (Vosges) and specialized in the reintegration of people away from employment.

With this new wind farm, Neoen confirms its position as the independent leader in the production of renewable energies in France and strengthens its position in the Grand Est region in which the company already operates 13 wind farms and 2 solar power plants. It also develops numerous projects there with a dedicated team of 20 people from its offices in Nancy and Paris.

Guillaume Decaen, Neoen's Development Director for France, said: “It is with great pride that today we are inaugurating the largest of our 32 wind farms in France. We are very happy to see this project come to fruition, the result of close collaboration with local elected officials as well as with the owners and operators, whom we thank for their trust. The Grand Est region offers immense potential. We wish to actively contribute to its objective of becoming a positive energy and low-carbon territory, by pursuing our growth there according to our model of developer and long-term investor.”

Michel Heinrich, Chairman of SEM Terr'EnR, adds: “Terr'EnR's acquisition of a stake in this wind farm is the first for the territorial energy operator. This is a real investment for the future which will eventually make it possible to finance the change in energy model and the energy savings that are so important to support. Armed arm of local authorities, which hold 71% of the capital, the mixed economy company Terr'EnR was created to promote citizen participatory investment in renewable energy projects in the central Vosges. Other projects are under study to aim for 46% energy autonomy by 2030 and a positive energy territory by 2050 .

Nathalie Babouhot, president of the Community of municipalities of Mirecourt-Dompaire points out: "The Madon & Moselle wind farm is the first wind farm initiated by the local municipalities and then supported by the community of municipalities Mirecourt-Dompaire. Developing renewable energies is a major axis defined within the framework of the territorial climate air energy plan adopted by the community elected representatives, with the firm will to control the wind projects to preserve territorial solidarity within the community of communes. We salute the consultation work carried out with the Neoen teams throughout the development of the project.

Xavier Barbaro, Chairman and CEO of Neoen, concludes: “Renewable energies are more than ever the best shortcut to a greener, more competitive and more local, and therefore more sovereign, energy mix. With this new park, Neoen now has more than 450 MW of wind power in operation or under construction in France, which brings our overall capacity in our country to more than 1.2 GW. We are thus the leading independent producer of renewable energy in France and we will further accelerate our development there.
