Russian Federation : Kola NPP increased electricity generation by 11% in July

    The northernmost nuclear power plant in Europe in July of this year produced 603.8 million kWh of electricity to the Unified Energy System of the country, which is 11.5% more than in the same period last year. Since the beginning of the year, the Kola NPP has generated 5.8 billion kWh of electricity.

    Currently, power units No. 1 and 3 are in operation. Power unit No. 2 is in reserve, and power unit No. 4 is under preventive maintenance. The station's dispatch schedule is 880 MW.

    The level of background radiation in the area of ??the Kola nuclear power plant is 0.07 ?Sv/h, which corresponds to the values ??of the natural background.

    Kola NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC (part of the largest division of the State Corporation Rosatom - Electric Power). The station is located 200 km south of the city of Murmansk on the shore of Lake Imandra. There are 4 power units with a VVER-type reactor, each with a capacity of 440 MW, in operation.
