BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. Turkish Cengiz Enerji company express interest in the construction of a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant with a total capacity of 400 MW in Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.
The ministry’s statement said that the launching of the new plant will allow the saving of 286 million cubic meters of gas per year, which in monetary terms is equal to $103 million.
The matter was discussed at the recent meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, and the Executive Director of the company Ahmet Cengiz.
Cengiz Enerji is a Turkish company, which specializes in the generation and distribution of electricity, trade and distribution of natural gas, as well as the construction of combined cycle power plants using natural gas.
In November 2022, Cengiz Enerji put into operation a thermal power plant in the Khavast district of Uzbekistan’s Sirdorya region. The capacity of the TPP is 220 MW, which will generate some 1.7 billion kWh of electricity per year.
