The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, considered today that the project for the construction of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) production plant that YPF is carrying out together with the company Petronas, in the city of Bahía Blanca, "will allow reducing external restrictions, multiplying economic activity and generating thousands of jobs". Yesterday, the Buenos Aires President met with the President of YPF, Pablo González, after which he posted in the last hours that, together, they analyzed "the progress of the project for the production of LNG in Argentina that the company is carrying out together with Petronas and that will have a great impact on our province". The integral project includes the extraction of gas in Vaca Muerta, its transportation through a 620-kilometer pipeline to the processing terminal and its industrialization. The first LNG production plant in the country will be located in Bahía Blanca (Buenos Aires) and, in a second stage, it will achieve a final production capacity of 25 million tons per year. The development will enable Argentina to become a gas exporter to the entire world. "This will make it possible to reduce external restrictions, multiply economic activity and generate thousands of jobs, in addition to turning the country into a gas exporter on a global scale", said Kicillof. In this context, he stated that "this great step is possible thanks to Cristina Kirchner's political decision (during her second presidency) to recover YPF and turn it into a flagship company focused on the needs of our homeland".
