    Kyrgyzstan issues update on construction of vital Kambar-Ata HPP-1

      BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan is actively involved in preparations for the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1, said Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev on Facebook, Trend reports.

      "The preparatory process will take about two years. During this time, new roads, bridges and other infrastructure facilities will be restored and built," Bekmurzaev said.

      According to him, construction of Kambar-Ata HPP-1 is a major project that will assist Kyrgyzstan achieve one of its most important goals: securing the country's energy security.

      The first hydroelectric power plant is planned to be put into operation in 4 years. According to preliminary estimates, the height of the dam will be 256 meters, and the volume of accumulated water - 5.5 billion cubic meters. The capacity of the HPP will be 1,860 megawatts, generating 5 billion kWh of electricity per year.
