Power supply from Adani to Bangladesh’s national grid starts

    March 14, 2023 - Indian Retail News

March 14 -- Notwithstanding the fact that the contentious issue related to tariffs remain unresolved yet, the test transmission of power supply from Jharkhand-based (in India) Adani’s 1,600-megawatt coal-fired power station to Bangladesh’s national grid started recently.

Reports claimed this even as they cited Power Grid Company (PGB) of Bangladesh’s Facebook status in this direction, as per which the electricity transmission was synchronised with Bangladesh’s national grid on a test basis while adding around 50 MW of electricity from the Adani plant was supplied to the Bangladesh national grid through newly built transmission lines and substations recently even as the concerned company underlined it built a 134km 400kV transmission line, from the bordering Mankasha area through Rohanpur to Bogura while also a 400/230kV substation was installed at Bogura to facilitate the evacuation of power.

It may be mentioned here Bangladesh has had to face issues related to power recently that had hit the production of the industries there.
