Although the temperature dropped compared to previous days, power outages persisted this Wednesday in some neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, which generated new protests from neighbors since in some cases they have been without electricity supply for two weeks.
The light rain that fell this afternoon in the city and the suburbs was not enough to quench the heat wave, with a thermal sensation that reached 32 degrees, but with high humidity in the atmosphere.
In the midst of this panorama, neighbors of Floresta, Caballito, Parque de los Patricios, Lugano and Mataderos, among others, gathered to protest against the lack of energy.
The complaints were aimed at Edesur, the concessionaire of the service, and in the office of that company in Floresta, located in Alberdi and Lacarra, there were some incidents, when a user assaulted an employee, which forced the authorities to lower the shutter and interrupt the attention to the public.
Later, the neighbors remained in the street and in the midst of the protests set fire to some wooden fences, while chanting against the company.
The protests were repeated in other areas of the city, such as Avenida Jujuy at 1900, in Parque de los Patricios, and also in Avenida General Paz and Dellepiane, in the heart of Lugano.
Up to 7:00 p.m. this Wednesday, some 100,000 users were without power, including the City and the suburban area, 96,134 within the concession area of Edesur and 3,296 of Edenor.
On the other hand, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecast a minimum of 26 and a maximum of 32 degrees for this Thursday, and similar temperatures for Friday, while the downward trend will continue towards the weekend.
