March 16 (Renewables Now) - Swedish renewables developer-operator OX2 AB (STO:OX2) said on Thursday that it will provide full-service asset management for a 101-MW wind farm in Sweden on behalf of its owner, Ireland-based investor Greencoat Renewables Plc (LON:GRP).
The job will entail the provision of technical, commercial and financial management of the Erstrask South wind farm in the long term. The wind farm is equipped with 36 Enercon turbines which have been spinning since 2021.
OX2 will also support Greencoat in the future take-over of another wind farm, which is currently under construction. The Swedish firm will also provide full scope asset management services for that wind farm once it becomes operational, it said.
With the latest contract, OX2 will have close to 500 MW of Enercon’s wind turbines in the area in its management portfolio.
Greencoat bought the Erstrask South wind farm from German turbine maker Enercon Gmbh in 2021. It later went on to buy Erstrask North, which was under construction at the time of the acquisition in mid-2022.
