Denmark: Five municipalities leading investors of renewable energy

    March 20, 2023 - M-Brain Nordic News

According to interest organisation Green Power Denmark, many more wind turbines and solar cells will have to be set up in Denmark in the coming years if the target of quadrupling their electricity production by 2030 is to be achieved. In 2022, five municipalities accounted for 60% of all new onshore wind turbines and solar cells that were set up in Denmark. These municipalities include Aabenraa, Ringkøbing-Skjern, Viborg, Skive and Faxe. Green Power Denmark recommends that binding objectives should be set for the development in municipalities. According to their figures, if all municipalities set up one wind turbine per year, it is enough to achieve the goal of doubling the production of power from onshore wind turbines by 2030s. Randers, Lolland and Ringkøbing-Skjern are the three municipalities with the most onshore renewable energy.
