The Angra 1 Nuclear Power Plant set a record for energy generation in 2023. The unit generated, in January, more than 485 million megawatts per hour and surpassed its best mark, which had been reached in July 2021, with just over 483 million.
According to the Plant, the electronuclear advance is due to the several researches, inspections, measurements, adjustments, and exchanges of components and equipment.
Also noteworthy are the cleaning of the 48,000 tubes in the secondary system's condenser boxes, improvements in the instrumentation for reading electromechanical parameters, and the reduction of steam losses that optimize the turbines' operation.
