March 23 (Renewables Now) - Serbian wind power producer Fintel Energija AD (BEL:FINT) on Wednesday named China’s Zhejiang Windey Co Ltd (SHE:300772) as the preferred turbine supplier for the 854-MW Maestrale Ring wind farm project in Serbia.
The contract will include the supply of 112 units of Windey’s WD200 wind turbines of 7.7 MW each and a ten-year service and maintenance agreement. Windey will also open a turbine servicing office in Serbia’s capital Belgrade, Fintel said.
The Maestrale Ring wind farm, Fintel Energija’s wholly-owned project, will be located in Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina. Its capacity will place it on the list of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms.
The latest appointment came after in January this year Fintel selected Windey as the preferred turbine supplier for 110 MW of its Serbia projects.
Fintel Energija is majority-owned by Italian energy company Fintel Energia Group SpA.
