Latin America's largest wind turbine is already installed in Peru

The first wind turbine of Wayra Extension, Enel Green Power Peru's wind power project, is already installed in Marcona. This is the largest wind turbine in Peru, Latin America and the third largest in the world.

This is the first of 30 wind turbines that the plant will have, each with an installed power of 5.9 MW, which together will achieve a power of 177 MW. They have a total height of 182 meters, of which 76 meters correspond to the length of the blades.

"After the blade transfer works, having the first wind turbine of the Wayra Extension wind power plant already installed is a new milestone in the generation of renewable energies for our country. We continue with the objective of completing the project and adding green energy sources for all of Peru," said Eugenio Calderón, Head of Enel Green Power Peru.



Wayra Extension, together with Wayra I, will form the largest wind power project in Peru, with an installed capacity of almost 310MW that will be injected into the National Interconnected Electrical System (SEIN) to benefit the whole country with more green energy.
