United Caps off-takes from Renantis' 46.8-MW Swedish wind farm

    March 23, 2023 - SeeNews Renewables

March 23 (Renewables Now) - Italian renewable energy company Renantis SpA has signed a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) for a portion of the output of its 46.8-MW wind farm in Sweden.

The off-taker is Luxembourg-based manufacturer of high-performance plastic caps and enclosures United Caps. Under the PPA, United Caps will each year procure around 65 GWh of electricity generated by Renantis’s Alinden wind farm, the companies said in a joint press release on Thursday.

The agreement will run for ten years.

The Alinden wind farm is located in Ornskoldsvik, Vasternorrland County, northern Sweden. Operational since 2019, the wind farm can generate 160 GWh of electricity annually.

The procurement will contribute to United Caps’ scope 1 and scope 2 emissions reduction targets, and also enable its European operations to run on 100% green electricity, the press release said.
