Arequipa: One hour without electricity to give a break to the planet

    March 24, 2023 - CE Noticias Financieras

In order to reduce environmental pollution, Earth Hour will be remembered in Arequipa with a voluntary electrical blackout for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, this Saturday, March 25.

The president of the AQP Voluntary Network, José Zegarra, urged the population to disconnect their equipment such as electrical and technological appliances, as well as to turn off the electricity for this time in order to contribute to the care of the environment.

"The behavior of the population is disinterested, but they should know that we have a serious pollution and we should not leave the equipment connected if we do not use them," he said.

The members of the AQP Voluntary Network together with the Municipality of Arequipa, SENASA, the Ecological Police and the general population will participate in the talks and presentations at Selva Alegre Park from 8:30 to 9:30 am.
