In order to achieve the EU climate goals, significantly faster growth of renewable energies will be necessary in the coming years. What can companies do to help?

With their company roofs, they offer enormous potential for installing photovoltaic systems. In industry in particular, power consumption is high. The more electricity is generated from solar power, the better it is for the environment on the one hand and, of course, on the other hand for the company itself.

What are the advantages of having your own PV system for a company?

On the one hand, it helps to save electricity costs. If the PV system is dimensioned appropriately, the investment costs can be amortized within 5-7 years. Especially when electricity prices continue to rise. On the other hand, the companies actively contribute to environmental protection by supplying their own electricity from renewable sources. Because compared to energy generation from fossil fuels, the ecological balance of photovoltaics is significantly better. Last but not least, your own PV system also contributes positively to the company's image account and helps to achieve the ESG goals.

When entering into solar power generation, companies are faced with the question of whether their own know-how and the development of internal capacities are necessary…

It makes sense and is often necessary for companies with a PV system to implement energy management. At the beginning of the Ukraine war, the demand for PV systems rose again drastically. Many customers are currently waiting months for their parts to be delivered….

Unfortunately, this is the case in many cases. However, we can supply our customers comparatively quickly because we have experienced project managers and a large team of our own fitters, including master roofers and electricians. We counteract the tense delivery situation for components with a broad network of international suppliers and two of our own well-stocked warehouse locations.

Are there currently any relevant state support measures for PV systems?

In principle, financial support is possible nationwide through remuneration under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). KfW also supports private individuals, companies and public institutions by promoting the purchase of PV systems with the low-interest loan "270 Renewable Energies – Standard". There are also regional programs run by states and municipalities. The application for a subsidy for a photovoltaic system should be submitted before the purchase. The purchase contract may only be concluded after receipt of the funding notification.

What is your vision for Vodasun?
