    March 30, 2023 - CE Noticias Financieras

The average price of electricity in the wholesale market fell 54.9% on Thursday to 31.11 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) compared to 68.91 euros yesterday. With this, electricity again costs less than 100 euros per MWh for the second consecutive day.

According to the latest data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Servimedia, today the cap on gas is not applied for the thirty-second consecutive day as its price is below the cap set by the Iberian exception, which in March is 55 euros.

The 31.11 euros per MWh represents a drop of 62.9% compared to the 83.84 euros on Thursday of last week and a decrease of 76.6% over the 132.68 euros a month ago.

In addition, in year-on-year comparison, this Thursday there is a reduction of 87.8% since on March 30 last year the price was 255.81 euros per MWh.
