RWE collaborates with Entergy to assess Gulf of Mexico offshore wind market

    March 31, 2023 - Resource News International

      International Resource News - 31 March 2023

RWE, a Germany-based global company involved in offshore wind power, is entering into collaboration with Entergy, a company that owns and operates a large-scale US power generating fleet, to evaluate the Gulf of Mexico offshore wind market.

Both companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly assess the delivery of clean energy from offshore wind to industrial customers in Texas and Louisiana.

According to the MOU, both companies have agreed to evaluate five key areas to define an optimal route-to-market, which includes market demand for carbon-free energy for customers of Entergy Louisiana, Entergy New Orleans and Entergy Texas; resource economics; transmission analysis to ensure reliability; economic effects extending to direct and indirect job creation; and curricula to prepare the workforce of the future.
