BlackRock's GRP III closes 97-MWp distributed solar buy in Chile

    May 18, 2023 - SeeNews Renewables

May 18 (Renewables Now) - BlackRock's Global Renewable Power Fund III (GRP III) has closed the acquisition of a 97-MWp distributed solar project portfolio in Chile that was developed by RRG Capital Management (RRGCM) and local partners.

This was announced on Thursday by Aediles Capital Inc, an independent sponsor and platform asset manager which said it supported the fund in this transaction.

"We look forward to continuing to provide top tier asset management for this platform and will continue originating additional MWp for the platform," stated David Orellana, Platform Head of Aediles Talinay, Aediles Asset Manager in Chile.

The announcement does not give more details about the particular asset portfolio other than mentioning it includes small-scale solar projects, part of the local PMGD programme.

BlackRock Real Assets achieved a USD-4.8-billion (EUR 4.45bn) final close of the GRP III fund two years ago.
