May 18 (Renewables Now) - Colombia generated 89.48% of its electricity from clean and renewable sources in April, boosting the clean share in the total power mix from 87.17% in March, according to the latest data released by national grid operator XM Compania de Expertos en Mercados.
The nation’s clean power plants, including hydro of all sizes and non-conventional renewables, generated roughly 189 GWh of electricity per day on average, or 1.16% more compared to daily average production in March.
The electricity system as a whole produced 6,336.07 GWh in April, which translated into a daily average of 211.2 GWh, down by 1.46% month-on-month, XM said.
