EDPR seeks equipment for 5-MW green hydrogen project in Portugal

    May 22, 2023 - SeeNews Renewables

May 22 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) announced last week it will hold a tender in May to procure the equipment and services needed for the construction of a 5-MW green hydrogen plant near Lisbon.

More specifically, the company will be looking to purchase proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysers and to award the balance of plant (BoP) job for the project.

EDPR said it plans to commence construction of the facility in 2024 in order to have it completed the same year. The project has been granted investment support under the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

The company noted that the purpose of this particular green hydrogen project is to blend green hydrogen with natural gas in the high-pressure national system and to provide green mobility solutions.
