    Bechtel joins consortium designing Poland's first nuclear power plant

      "Today, the project enters a new phase as another giant of the US nuclear energy joins it," the Minister of Climate Anna Moskwa said during the ceremony of signing the agreement. "Bechtel is the company that will act as a contractor in the project."

      Another stage in the investment of building Poland's first nuclear power plant in the Pomorskie region will the launch of designing and engineering works expected in the summer, she signaled.

      Earlier on Thursday, Parkiet daily published an interview with PEJ acting CEO Lukasz Mlynarczyk saying that in the following months of 2023 PEJ will negotiate and sign an Engineering Services Contract with the consortium. Works on designing the n-plant adjusted to Polish standards will take some 18 months from signing the ESC, the official estimated. PEJ expects the support mechanism for the nuclear project will be known next year.
