Electricity consumption in April was covered by renewable sources

In April, Austria covered nearly 90 percent of its electricity demand from renewable sources, with periods of complete reliance on sustainable energy. Run-of-river hydropower accounted for over 60 percent of renewable production, followed by a 16 percent contribution from wind power. This high renewable energy generation allowed Austria to export electricity on over half of the days in April. The increase in renewable energy production during spring is a typical seasonal pattern.
