ASTANA. May 26 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Head of National Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov and Chief Technology Officer of Adani Group Sudipta Bhattacharya discussed the construction of a thermal power plant in Almaty region, the press office of Samruk-Kazyna said in a statement.
The sides discussed opportunities for building a new thermal power plant in Almaty region jointly with the local company Samruk-Energy.
Currently the fund, Adani Group and the Kazakh Energy Ministry are in the process of approving terms and conditions regarding the partner's participation in the project, the statement said on Friday.
As reported earlier, in December 2022 President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Gautam Adani, the chairman and founder of Adani Group, to discuss prospects for strategic investment projects in this country.
