Tokyo Electric Power and Toyota Motor announces testing of stationary storage battery system

    May 31, 2023 - Auto Business News

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. (TEPCO), a Japan-based electric utility holding company, and Japan-based Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TTM) are testing a stationary storage battery system.

The system has one MW output and three MWh capacity and will be deployed in the Eurus Tashirotai Wind Farm by Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation. The four companies are to commence a collaborative verification project later this year. They have jointly developed a stationary storage battery system that can connect multiple storage batteries for electric vehicles.

It is expected that the verification project will confirm the system's operation and performance and feasibility, including its potential for business use in the electricity market.
